Prof. Olanrewaju A. Fagbohun, Ph.D, SAN, NPOM has over 35 years experience advising clients on commercial transactions and a broad range of issues, including environmental law and climate change.
He is an expert in several practice areas, including corporate and commercial transactions, dispute resolution, environmental law, energy and natural resources, financial restructuring and insolvency, free trade zone services, and regulatory and governance matters. He delivers specialist advice and deep expertise to clients across a wide range of sectors, including public and private companies.
With extensive experience successfully representing institutions in contentious matters across Nigeria, he is frequently called upon by the Federal Government of Nigeria and State Governments to advise on environmental law, climate change, and renewable energy transactions.
As Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), he transformed the institution over his five-year tenure, elevating it to national and global prominence. Under his leadership, it was ranked as the second-best university in Nigeria by Times Higher Education, UK.
Before founding Xentia LP, he was the founding partner of RouQ and Company, where he advised clients on complex corporate and commercial transactions.
Advised the Jagal Group on its acquisition of and investment in Nigerdock Nigeria Plc.
Advised LAMNALCO Group on several matters including contentious labour relations, vessel registration, de-registration, and other maritime services.
Advised Afrikdelta Marine Limited on vessel registration, de-registration, pilotage and associated marine and logistic services.
Provided corporate legal services to Subsea 7 regarding the delivery of offshore projects and services in the energy industry.
Legal advisor to the Jagal Group on the establishment of Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, Nigeria’s foremost maritime and industrial free zone.
Advised Sinopec International on its development of Nigerian fields oil mining leases (OML64 and 66), Stubb Creek field interest.
Experience
Represented IBILE Holdings in several contentious litigation matters at the State and Federal courts and advised on the handling of employee relations.
Advised Lagos Building Investment Company on the setting up of joint ventures.
Represented Lagos Building Investment Company in litigation matters involving former employees.
Advised and represented Hydrotrans in litigation of its real estate properties and the protection of its extensive property portfolios.
Advised and represented Ardova Plc in the protection of its investment and management of joint venture disputes with an international partner.
